Default Villages Computer Club - Paper Management - May 15th

Below is a summary of the Computer Club presentation that is on our 2020 schedule for Friday, May 15th, 2020. As you know this meeting has been canceled, but, presenters in both the VCP & the VCC have committed to creating all of the scheduled presentations, despite the fact that they cannot be given in person. As a result, each of these presentations will be posted on the respective websites of each club prior to the originally planned meeting date, just as we have always done in the past. Managing all the paper documents we receive in the information age we live in can be a tiresome and frustrating chore. While many organizations are moving to paperless document delivery, many of us still live in the paper document era and deal with all the challenges of handling many years of accumulated paper files. Fortunately, our computers offer a safe, convenient and secure alternative – namely conversion to a digital filing system. Moreover, Bob Walton has published an excellent guide for migrating from paper files to a digital filing system that is available on the VCC website (The VILLAGES COMPUTER CLUB Inc. - Home ) Bob’s talk originally scheduled for the May 15th meeting (now cancelled) provides a step-by-step guide to setting up a digital filing system and covers all the aspects of the process including an 8 step guide, plus hardware, software and backup recommendations. If you are wrestling with paper files and/or looking for organization tips this is an excellent resource. Take a look his publication – you will find it very useful!
