Default Villages Computer Club - setting up a new or existing computer

Have questions about setting up a new or existing computer - then come to Rohan 1pm, October 18th.
The fall season brings good sales on computers that are eagerly seized upon by those looking to upgrade. However, a new computer needs to be setup to run efficiently and in a manner that is pleasing to the user, a task that can be confusing and overwhelming given the myriad of options affecting such things, for example, as security, privacy, appearance and software organization. The net result for many users is that these options are not set optimally resulting in privacy, security and operability problems. In his talk titled “How in the world do you setup a new PC” scheduled for October 18th, 1pm at Rohan, Bob Walton will review setting up a PC and provide excellent guidance and tips on the setup process. This talk is an great resource for those looking to buy a new computer and for all of us who have recently setup a computer. Be sure to attend!
Our meetings are open to all Villages residents and feature a 45-55-minute presentation on a subject of interest, followed by a short break for refreshments, 50-50 and door prizes. Afterward, we reconvene to answer questions members have asked our GURUs before the meeting started. Every Villager can attend one meeting without having to join but membership in the club is required after that. We urge all interested attendees to join the club for $5.00 per year. You might want to edit your note as one place it says Oct 11 rather than Oct 18.
