Send back any you have......

  • If you have or ever had a 4-ring binder – You might have a Bell System background.

If you know 554 +58 was a white wall rotary phone or aln was a additional line. then your a bell system retiree.Worked on everything from open wire to ddm 2000's

. 12 years coin,4 yrs frameman, 8 years cable maint.,7 yrs cxm.

best deal I ever got !!

Thing is - by that time, it was no longer the Bell System.

A guy I worked with had 12 years service at the time. He lamented that he needed "12&12" just to get to 6&6.

not sure about Ford, but for quite a while, all you could get was a black phone. I'm talking about in the 50's.

Your right/ they were made with a thing called bakelite, heavy as hell but they worked for ever.

42 yrs in April ----last year!!! Remember when we charged for a colored phones? Beige, white, tourqoise, red... $1.00 per month. Black was free. Charged for 13ft receiver cords. Remember 4 & 8 party lines !!! Open wire for toll leads. Seemed like yesterday. We will be down the 1st of March.

We also used to charge for touch tone, and remember all the extra equipment (touch tone converters) that were required ?

HOW ABOUT RECITE THE COLOR CODE , LAYERED CABLE, A DUTCHMAN/ POT WIPE/ THE OLD TEST BOARD (14B BOARD) CUT AND KICK. 41 YEARS IN APRIL (LINE GANG) HOUSE GO'ES ON MARKET IN 2 WEEKS CAN'T WAIT TO CALL TV HOME...... SKI

and the 2500 set, CO's, butt sets, cross connects, COAM cable, CEV, NIDs,
JK wire, 1200 baud, 56K, T-1 HSA's, Extra dollar for a phone color other than black, ringer equivilancies..........


Why fix it when it ain't broke Judge Green? Baby Bells......
