Default Best way to dispose of an old laptop

I've actually got a couple very old ones here and I'm in Sumter County.

I would plan to remove the hard drive and destroy that.

Thanks

Best Buy will accept laptops to recycle them (limit of five per household per day) - no cost to you. I took them an old B/W laser printer and two laptops - person just inside the front door will take them from you. Yes, take out your drive and destroy or do what you wish with it; you can buy an external case for it to transform the drive into an external storage device. Just plug it into your new device, do a format, you're ready to go.
