Default Computer help

I got a message this morning that I do not have WLDCore.dll. I tried to download and it is not successful. Could use some help on this please.

Also, I need a free Malaware program. Any suggestions please.

Thanks.

Did you uninstall Windows Live Messenger before trying to reinstall it?

I've converted several people to the Chromebook, they love how it is simple and doesn't get a virus. If they don't want to buy a new computer, then I convert them to Linux Mint. Again, while not as secure as a Chromebook, it's very very unlikely to get a virus.

It really comes down to how you use your computer. If you are a "gamer", then those are not an option. If you need programs you had to download, like Quicken, Photoshop, etc, then again they may not fit your needs, but, if all you do is "surf" the web, go on Facebook, Twitter, do online banking, and other things that only require a web page, then they are likely a good choice.

Getting setup on a Chromebook is easy, all you need is a Google account (Gmail). Google "Chromebook" and you will find many links and YouTubes on how to use it.

Linux Mint is a little more difficult, but again there are many YouTubes on how to do it. The nice thing is that you can test Linux Mint from a USB drive before you commit to it.

Windows requires you to get anti-virus, malware, backup software and much more. While there are free version of these, you still have to maintain them. You don't need any of those with a Chromebook or Linux Mint.

If either one (or both) of these are of interest to you, then let the people in the computer clubs know so they will set up a talk it one of their meeting.

Connected Villager - Home (where there is already a couple of my talks on the Chromebook)

and

The VILLAGES COMPUTER CLUB Inc. - Home
