The tested speed is not always a good indicator of "actual" speed.

While you may have a fast internet connection, certain sites can still be slow to reach and slow to respond.

It depends on how many people are accessing those sites, and along what circuitous route you are sent to get to there.

Thank you for posting this link. I have Comcast here in suburban Chicago. I just ran the link and got download: 14.4 Mbps and upload 12.0 Mbps. I should run this again on a weeknight at 8:00 pm to see what the results are.

Your ISP will normally only "guarantee" the download speed (first figure). The upload speed is often significantly lower.

Of course, for most people downloading is much more important, anyway.
