Default Does anybody know what's wrong with my cell phone? (The Beep Goes On)

When I am on my cell phone, there is always an annoying "beep-beep-beep" in the background of every conversation. The person I am talking with cannot hear the beeps.

My battery is charged and my Verizon signal is fine, but the beep goes on.

The phone is about 2 years old, a Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Mr. Boomer wants us to go to the Verizon store. I do not like to go to cell phone stores. I do not want a new phone.

Does anyone out there in TOTVland know why my phone keeps beeping for no obvious reason?

I really, really, really do not want to go to the Verizon store. It takes forever and I just don't care about having the latest, greatest phone.

The beeping has been going on for 2 or 3 months and I actually have grown rather accustomed to it. I might miss it.........

There is an associate Verizon store on 466 near Walmart Russell Communications (as I recall). We have been going there for Verizon phone and service, typically a much shorter wait then at the Verizon store. As for the beeping, and this is a GUESS, take a look at you settings and or apps, and see if you have a recording app turned on.
Also, try a reboot of the phone, and you can try a restore factory settings (NOTE THESE MIGHT CAUSE LOSS OF DATA.)
If you go to the above store, let us know what they find.

You might have the minute minder set to on. The phone will beep to tell you how long the phone call has been. Short of that a battery pull or hard reset could fix it.

You don't have to go to a store.
Can just call them for free on your cell or troubleshoot it online. Chat online can also be quick and helpful.

I went with MikeV's advice first because I did not even know I had something called a "minute minder" AND -- sure enough! There it was! ON!

That was so easy!

You guys are all great to offer help......

And now you know that somewhere in the middle of TV there is a happy woman who does not have to go to the Verizon store.

You have a problem and people care enough to look for a solution or share a solution because it happened to them. This time Mike V nailed it.
