Some years ago I sold a lot of my unwanted fishing, golf, and sundry sports stuff online, and my grand kids did very well from the sales.
I found the following worked well for me.

1.Good photos. Take your time presenting item. Crappy photo=crappy price.
2. Free postage. Buyers love it. But it isn't really. Just add postage cost to the minimum ( starting price) you will accept for item.
3. Absolute honesty in description. Never over egg the omelette.
4. Pack item well, and post as soon as item paid for, and payment cleared.

Buyers love PayPal so I used it for all payments.
Many sellers find it stacked against them in disputes.
But I never had a problem as I was honest in all my descriptions.

Good luck.

Got to log in to see. Upper right at top above all categories you see “sell” click on that. Read “learn basics.”

While i have not personally done this I would use a delivery service that has tracking so you know the item was delivered, and I would insure items of any significant value.. Signature required is a real pain for the buyer, and as I buyer I do not do business when this is required.

I've done about 400 transactions on eBay. It is simple. Shipping is very easy. Each time you sell you get a discounted shipping option via eBay. Take pictures of the items with your phone and you can use your phone or computer to finish the listing. Half the time they have other items of the sane thing you can use as a basis for creating your listing. Easy peasy.
