Anyone have any experience with this online computer troubleshooting and diagnosis? They advertise heavily on television.

I have no experience of this particular product, but similar products are generally a waste of money

Any "free" scan will find hundreds of things wrong with your computer - they may even fix a few of the minor errors - but you have to buy the full product to fix the rest

Yet most of these so-called problems are minor house-keeping matters and are not slowing down your computer or causing it to crash

These companies just operate by worrying people unnecessarily

I do recommend downloading and running the free version of CCleaner - I have used it for years on several desktops and laptops and never had any problems with it

I agree with the above. Most of those online programs simply empty trash, delete temp files and browser history. I would be leery of anything online that was really going to alter registry settings or other settings.

CCleaner is a really good program. Besides cleaning out trash, it also has the ability to modify your start-up to eliminate unnecessary programs from running in the background. I find this alone often improves performance, especially start-up speed. And, it's free!
