Also, I just wanted to say a word about that ArtistOil HD app. It really makes your pictures look like paintings. I've tried many, but this one is great! I was sitting in bed, brought up a pic of my husband, made it look like an oil painting, hit print with my HP3 app. And then went into my office in the front of the house and found a absolutely (or should I say appsolutely) beautiful 4 x 6 print that looks like a painting of my hubs. It's sooooooo cool!

The GPS on the iPhone will locate the closest courses to your current location. This is very useful, if you are in an unfamiliar area.

Comments: This was one of my first apps and I believe one of the most amazing. The apps will "listen" to any music source (Radio, CD, TV, your humming, etc.) and will identify the artist and song. Once identified, you are normally presented with options to purchase from iTunes or many times, you can watch a YouTube video of the song.

I've been an electrical engineer for almost 40 years and I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to go and get started with Ipad or Iphone. Hell I remember not too many years ago I didn't think I needed Internet. Guess I'm more than a little behind the times.

Do you have any suggestions where I should look for best info regarding Ipad or I phone? I'm not going to retire for another year or so and I hope all this stuff is not obsolete by then. LOL

There are literally thousands of places to learn about either the iPhone or the iPad. My recommendation is to first go to www.apple.com and look at the products; read what they do and watch the online demo videos. The iPad has a very good collection of "how to" videos. Secondly, if you are anywhere close to an Apple store, stop in and look around; talk to the sales person and get your hands on an iPad. There's no substitute for holding the iPad in your hands and trying out a few of the apps. They will have lots of iPads on a table for your testing pleasure. The sales folks [at Apple] are very helpful and there's normally no pressure to buy anything...at least, that's been my experience. I LOVE the Apple store! Although, most Apple users do.

Once you get a general understanding of the products and what they do, this thread will make much more sense to you. Especially all the app talk.

If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me. If I don't know the answer, I'll try to find it for you. I'm certainly no expert!

Now whenever she goes to the mall near her, she always walks by the Apple store just to see-- and sure enough, she tells me, it is always packed.

And yes, the sales people are wonderful. Always ready to answer questions, show you how to do something, or show you any products you want to see -- but never any pressure to buy anything. I guess that's why one reason people feel so comfortable frequenting Apple stores.
