Default Need help from someone who knows how to use CAD software

I'm trying to create a series of plastic Christmas ornaments that I can have manufactured. To create them I need to use CAD software to create the design and save it as a file to be sent to the manufacturer. I have little to no experience in CAD, and have recently played with Tinkercad on line, but it doesn't do everything I need it to do.
I'm trying to find a retiree in The Villages who has experience with CAD programs to either show me how to do what I need to do, or create the ornaments with me. I'd be willing to pay a small amount for the assistance, with the ultimate goal of learning enough in CAD to do it on my own. Any help would be appreciated. If you have experience or know of anyone who does, please respond to this thread and I'll send you my contact info. Thanks.

There is a group that has been working with 3D printers which will have members that should be able to help. From your brief description, I am sure you will need a 3D CAD program to create your models. These can use various file formats, so you may want to check what format your manufacturers prefer, AutoCad would probably be the default, but this is a very expensive piece of software.

Also, if you are using Windows 10 on a newer computer, there is a 3D builder in the Windows directory, unfortunately my older computer will not support this.

Thanks. I was trying to find them online but I can’t remember the name of the group. Read a few articles about them in The Daily Sun. I’ll browse the Thursday Sun insert and see if I can find them in the Club listing.

Hello Leatherneck,

Try downloading Fusion 360 from Autodesk, it’s free to hobbyist, and start up businesses, very powerful for what your trying to do. This website also provides learning tools. Cloud Powered 3D CAD/CAM Software for Product Design | Fusion 360

Good luck,
Ron
