I bought the Epson ET-3760. It doesn't use ink cartridges. I have it about eight months and haven't had to add any ink. I like it a lot.

It's more than you're looking to spend but I think that i've saved a lot of money on ink cartridges and think that it will more than pay for itself in a short time.

You still have to manually add ink. Some people find that to be very difficult, and the stains on their carpets and clothing are proof of the learning curve.

It has been my experience that when you pay less for the printer, you will pay more(cost per page) for the print cartridges. Need to evaluate how much printing you intend to do and then decide.

Buy a cheap printer, and when it stops working, throw it out. It's very difficult to estimate how much you will spend on cartridges because they can dry out or you may use too much of one color, causing the cartridge to fail too early.
