Sounds like you bought a new router and are using the default wifi name of the new router which is different than your old default name.
The easiest thing to do is go into the router and change the default wifi name(s) to the old routers names so you would not need to change all of your wifi names in your phones/tablets/iot. Better yet, you should never use the default wifi names (ssid), plus you should always use just 1 wifi name for both your 2.4 & 5ghz wifi networks. Let the device determine which network to use. |
Not for nothing, but, Linux never has a problem connecting to printers. Think Linux.

Wifi "bands"

Of course you need to configure your printer to access the Wifi on your new router. So configure your printer for Wifi and then connect your computer to whatever band you use on the printer. |

There are often problems connecting older printers with newer routers. Try googling your particular printer and then look for a YouTube as others have suggested.

Then the Optimum upgraded my modem to one that supports 2.4 and 5G with one name automatically. Now I can only print from my main laptop and the other 3 does not see the printer and they can not even ping the printer's IP address. I search all over internet and tech forums and found some other people who have the same problem but so far no solutions found. Anyone experienced the same problem? Cheers! |
