Give Comcast Internet repair a call.... they will walk you thru and help to get your laptop installed. Make sure you tell them that it hooks up to other system, Larry

I would take it to another public location as other people have mentioned. Until you can verify that the computer can actually connect to the wifi, you will spend much wasted time over the Router. If it works fine, then you could check to see if your computer wifi driver is out of date. If you have a new router and an out of date driver, that could cause issues as well. Worst case scenario, have somebody come out to the house.

If all else fails, just keep trying. One of our computers refused to connect for the first few days then, without our changing anything, one day it just worked and has never been a problem since.

My husband called yesterday to hook up our new modem. Tada... 2 hours (not exaggerating) on the phone and it was done. Comcast employee was very patient.

We have not heard from the OP since 2/1. I would have to assume that snowbird123 got it working.

If not, after all this time, it might be worth the $25 to have someone come out and get it working.
