Waze
When using Waze on my wife's old iphone SE, it gives voice directions when not plugged in, but the voice directions stop when it is plugged into the USB charging port on the car. A driver we met at a rest stop told us they have the same experience. Any advice?

My iphone gps won't talk to me if the bluetooth is on. As soon as I go to Settings and turn off the Bluetooth it works perfectly. |

It's possible you need to change the source to bluetooth or phone or iphone. It's also possible your phone is not compatible with the vehicle. It is for this exact reason that I bring power port chargers when I am going to be in a rental car. The USB ports tend to be "smart" and try to link the devices. The power power adapter prevents the phone from trying to link to the entertainment center and not working properly. |

true, not all apps can communicate with the dashboard computer system. . . depending upon the phone type, etc,
I prefer the voice from the phone as it doesn't stop the music or news, like a really intersting story and then the voice comes in just when you want to hear something specific |

When I plug in the cable from phone to charger, I must press the AUX (auxiliary) button on the radio to play though the car speakers.

In the Waze app; touch the gear in the upper left corner to access the settings page; touch voice and sound; touch play sound via and select "Play on phone speaker"
