Window 10 window popped up giving me a one minute count down until it loaded. I installed Never 10. The first time it appeared I pulled the battery from my laptop.

I restarted again and wind 10 again appeared with a 1 minute count down. This time I noticed in white lettering at the bottom left of the window something to the effect of perhaps later. I clicked on to it and the window disappeared and hasn't returned for the last two days. At this stage in my life I don't look forward for the days passing too quickly but my God I can't wait for July 29th:D

an upgrade to Win 10 was scheduled for Aug 2. So is it safe for me to uninstall never windows 10?

Microsoft has said they are removing the nag pop-up from computers running Win7 or 8.1, but it will take some time. Anyway, since the period for free upgrade to Win10 has passed, it would seem you can uninstall that program.

It would not hurt to leave it installed a little longer till it's for sure that it won't upgrade.

Since the above link shows that people are still able to get free upgrades, it would be good to give time for Microsoft updates to clear everything out for sure.

I suspect there's a difference between someone actively seeking an upgrade to Win10 as mentioned in your link, and someone trying to prevent an unwanted upgrade. From an article in PCWorld, I understood Win10 will not self install after 7/29 and the nag screen will disappear. But I agree there is certainly no harm in keeping that program active for a while just to make sure.

Thank you Mikeod and Wayne Sallee. Its tough being computer illiterate in today's world of technology. I know enough to get myself in trouble but not enough to get out of it.

Yes there is a difference, but it shows how it takes Microsoft a while to get everything changed over.

Giving a little extra time to make sure everything is changed over is a good idea, giving time for microsoft to work all the bugs out.
