This thread is old news. I'm sorry about the clock wise crack---

My point at the time is that Facebook may not go away like MySpace did. "As of the fourth quarter of 2017, Facebook had 2.2 billion monthly active users." There are 7.4 billion people in the world.

That's too much information in the hands of a couple of people or maybe just one.

Just saying...so many people on FB don't even have any security on their accounts and everything is public. When they do the quizzes and share the spam they are giving out all kinds of information.

I rarely go on facebook. I use to take quizzes outside of facebook. I want to see what I can remember what I was taught years ago.

I tried to find out which countries blacklist facebook.
All I know for sure is that China blocks Facebook. population 1.4 billion people

Yep, Facebook can be very detrimental to ones privacy (albeit, "privacy" is a bit laughable these days) and a minefield...if one isn't careful..

I also limit my 'friends' (less than 100) on Facebook, to those that truly are my friends/family in real life and am not one of those who are massively insecure...and need to bloat my friend count.

I've also quit taking any quizzes and look especially hard for those posts...that appear to be primarily looking for info.

The same goes for sites like Yahoo's home page, where I stay away from those that have 'Sponsored'...in the link.

I don't worry about what they know about me but I wonder if a lot of young people will have their potential political careers squashed before it even gets started because they were free spirits as teenagers and facebook can show everyone.

You should be concerned about what they know about you as that is how they learn how to scam you.

I long ago lost track, of all of the lectures from me to my now grown children...on exactly that point.

I always say if you haven't been hacked or scammed it is because you have not yet been targeted but being careful is a good thing.

This is from the CIA world fact book.
United States population 247 million
76.2% (July 2016 est.) has internet access 188 million

The total Facebook USA users 214 million (2018 est)

Almost every American with internet access has a facebook account.

It's almost 100 per cent.
