I tried the Verizon home internet. The service was awful. First, it is not 5G in the Villages, it is 4G. Second, the connection was interrupted so often, i.e. 5 times per hour, I took it back the next day. Third, when I returned the modem, I was charged a "restock fee" of $30.

Thank you sharing your experience

your description makes so sense - landline for telemarketing calls? If you have a cell phone, having that landline isn't going to do anything. In addition, it's not great security to have it which means a published number.

also never ever autopay anything, it's not worth it, if their data gets hacked into you lose.

as for Verizon, like everyone else whole it might provide the best service (as claimed by others) it really depends on where you are because then all your internet is on 5G aka just like your cell phone.

You'd be better off getting only internet, a fire stick, and leave it at that.

My comment of having a landline for telemarketing calls was my attempt at sarcasm but clearly it missed it's mark on this forum. That said you are correct about the auto pay. The internet only with firestick makes a great deal of sense.
Thank You

First, buy your own modem instead of renting theirs. Only buy their internet speed, at least 100 speed. Then get an Ooma, if you want local or long distance phone service besides your cell phone. Finally, purchase a Roku for streaming, and research cable TV streaming services like You Tube TV, Sling, Fubo. It's a lot cheaper and no contracts!

Thank you friend for your reply

I got the sarcasm immediately because I am a sarcastic SOB! :bigbow: Good luck on your “cutting the cord” venture

When I read it I did laugh.

Why pay all of that money when you can get Youtubetv for $69.95 a month with golf channel, 3 espn's, and many more.

$300 is redicules...

The person isn't looking for cellular service at all. They're looking for internet, TV, and landline phone (which they aren't really getting anyway, they're getting VoIP but it's still not cellular).

Also T-Mobile service is lousy in some areas of the Villages, just as AT&T service is lousy in some areas. It's 100% dependent on cellular towers, their location, and any obstructions between your house and the tower. The internet speed is advertised to range between 35mpb and 115mpb. That means there might be times when your "streaming" TV won't stream at all. Or if you're streaming and the phone rings, you might not be able to hear the call - or the TV might cut out. God forbid you try to use a wifi connection to print something out off your computer while you're on the phone with your lawyer - good luck with that.

I agree, but that's where the discount lays.
You sign up for auto pay, you get their discount.
