Stop using Internet Explorer. Install Firefox and make it the default web browser. Then in Firefox install the extension called Adblock Plus.

Good to go!

Right here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/

Another great tool is 'Cool Previews'. No more clicking on links, just move your mouse over the blue dot and you'll see the new link while maintaining the original page.

I have it installed. When I click on my email>>>Avg detects "warningalertmessage.com/index74.htm" and I can't get into my emails.

How do I get rid of that.. Running AVG & Malawarebbytes which do not help.

I tried all of these suggestions and more. Finally, my computer was literally unusable by all kinda viruses and pop ups that were within system. Totally frustrated, brought my laptop to Refresh Computers on Bichara Blvd and for $50, they totally cleaned everything out. Took them a few days but it has been working perfectly since they fixed it.

I realized that I was creating more of a problem by doing things that I knew nothing about. For instance, if i have a plumbing or electrical problem, I call in the expert that does it every day and avoid future problems.

Just my suggestion, call them, they are great. 352 459 0308.

Kathie: I also found out the hard way that those freebie downloads can be traps and as a result your computer now belongs to them. so I don't do free downloads any longer because I can not tell real from the fictional

Yes Sites that use to be safe are no longer.
Read the download text and be careful about the check of boxes.
Sometimes a new download icon comes up and it is actually a different program.

Remember.... on the Internet... there is "Nothing" 100% Free. NEVER do the automatic installs.. always do the manual installs and select the product you want,... not the advertising, tool bars and other redirect sites that is bundled into the "Automatic" downloads. Larry
