Looking to cover up the popcorn volume ceiling in my recently purchased pre owned designer with 1/4" or 3/8" sheet rock. Has anyone done this, and who do you recommend for the job? Looked on line and saw it comes off fairly easy but messy and time consuming to strip off the finish and then respackle.

Not sure which way to go with this job, both time and cost wise.

If you search, there is the name of a company that removes the popcorn. If you have not moved in, they have a way to do it with equipment and lots of tarps. I do not think it is a big deal for them.
