Default ASI home insurance?

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with ASI home insurance claims or customer service? TV sales agent provided a great quote and recommendation for ASI to cover my home insurance on new construction. Not knowing much about them I googled and found "not so good" reviews but then really can't go by just reviews posted on line (might very well be sour grapes from some customers). Agent said ASI responded quickly to TV customers after some major damages but I wonder if that's just a sales pitch. Curious to know if anyone has had ASI coverage, and if so, what's their experience with customer service, and overall service? Thanks so much for any info you can provide....would rather have some info before I make my final decision. Thanks all!!

My sister had ASI Insurance when the tornado that hit The Villages hit her home. She can't say enough good things about how responsive they were to that disaster. Because of her great experience, I went with ASI when I bought my villa in 2008.

Thanks Kfierle, that's the type of info I was looking for, and you were on point! I really appreciate that quick response! Your comment is exactly as the agent stated, so makes me feel "more better".... Thank you!

They seem to have a good name in the industry ---

hope WE never have to find out how responsive they are !!

We were covered by ASI during the tornado of 2007. I can't say enough good things about them. Their adjustor was here within 2 days and noted everyhting that we showed him. The next day we received a phone call from the ASI rep that had set up a temporary office in Lake Sumter Landing. He asked us to come into the office as he had a check for us to get started with repairs. He gave us enough to cover 20% of our estimated damage. After that, we just submitted receipts and were reimbursed within days for everything that we claimed. We even asked the adjustor to come out again as we had discovered some subsequent damage that hadn't been noticed at first. No problem. It was added to our original list. Needless to say, we are still with ASI.

We too had AIS when the tornado hit, and the service was exceptional. I heard not so good stories about other insurance companies, and I was glad at the time that we had AIS. We highly recommend it.

Default Thanks to you all - I am sold on ASI!

I really appreciate all your comments. Everyone of them was positive and aligned with what my TV insurance agent told me last week. I feel so much better now, rather than going blindly with a recommendation from an agent without any prior knowledge/info on the carrier. I will move ahead with the agent's recommendation, thanks again for your thorough and prompt response.

we have friends who have ASI and like many others during the tornado had such a great experience with the quick action they offered.. we had travelers but now have Asi. We have never placed a claim but we feel confident that they will take good care of us if needed. They also include sink hole which many companies charge extra.
