We chose Alan Byer 352-205-7504 on recomendations we picked up here on TOTV. He did an excellent job and the only followup you'll have to do is paint what you'll see when the stairs are folded and in the upright position. If he will paint it on request, I don't know. We didn't ask!

We used Hill Gutters. 352-245-7462. Yep, the gutter guys. When the installed our gutters Mr. Hill said they did alot more than gutters. We told him we needed the attic stairs installed. They were out the next day, did the installation at a good price and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves.
I called them this year and asked to have a downspout re-directed. This downspout was one installed by the builder. Mr. Hill came out the next day and did the job. No charge. A real classy outfit to deal with.

We used Abshier(ASM) in Sumter Landing, excellent job, quick to get the job done, even sent someone out to inspect the work.

Cool

We used Tim the Toolman - Tim Miller... Phone:352-217-0561

Tim showed up when he said he would, adhered to his quoted price and cleaned up after the job.

I got the recommendation for Tim, right here on TOTV...

We also used Alan Byer for our WOOD attic stairs - excellent job!

But if I might ask - why do you want aluminum?

Russ.... We did aluminum, but if I had to do it over again, I think I would just go with wood. We've always had wood, in other homes and I thought that aluminum might be a bit more sturdy... I don't remember there being a huge price difference between the two....

We had Bernie Coluccio (518 461 1805) install our wood attic stairs and also add additional flooring. He is a Villager and does many different types of home improvement projects. He did a great job. I highly recommend him.

Aluminum is obviously lighter than wood and can be just as sturdy.
Might be easier for the ladies to pull up an down?

Actually my son is having aluminum attic stairs installed for his house.
Will see how I like it and can't wait to have to do it in TV.

22 months to go! ( maybe a little more but unfortunately not less)

I chose aluminum over wood only because I can't climb stairs and my wife would have to do the climbing. I read here on TOTV that the aluminum has a railing where wood does not and I thought that would be safer for her.

Thanks! But it's probably just as well this way. If I could climb up, my wife would probably just put the stairs up and nail it shut!

Also used Tim Miller of Miller's Home Services at (352) 217-0561 for aluminum garage attic stairs. I did my own painting. He was on time and did a great job.

Out of curiosity, does anyone that has aluminum attic stairs with rails had a problem getting a large or awkward object in the attic because the rails get in the way? Trying to decide which way to go. I'll be installing it myself.
