Be glad you don’t live in NM where less than 1/2 pays for people who don’t get insurance. Extremely high there when I lived in that state regardless of loyalty and no accidents. |

I missed it, what is the make and model of your car????

Insurance
I would suggest always bundling your home, auto, and umbrella with the same carrier. Usually gets you a better rate overall. Should look at the total for all three. Umbrella is a necessity with all of the lawsuits. Just look at all the signs on the Freeway. A rule of thumb is to carry an umbrella equal to your net worth. As mentioned above, an umbrella policy will require that you carry limits on your other policies above the state-required minimum, which are way too low. Don't forget to mention if you own a golf cart. It affects the umbrella. I just switched back to Foremost (direct not through the village's insurance) and got a good rate on the Cart.

Geico doubled, switched to progressive, you are just a number .

Time to shop.

Yes. Had Progressive via The Villages Ins. Premium went up to $2000 for two cars for the year. No claims, etc. They switched me to Mercury exact same coverage for $1400.

I’ve had State Farm since I was 16 years old. That would make it 62 years now. I’ve had a few claims over the years and they have never hesitated to take care of them. (None for at least 30 years). Policy is under $600.00 for six months and I’ve checked with several other companies and some can beat the rate, but not by enough to make me want to change companies. Homeowners is a different story. They were 50% higher that what I was paying through The Villages Ins, but when American Integrity almost doubled their rate (because of all the free roofs), I switched to Farmers.

age, credit, vehicle, location all play a part in this. I've had State Farm for decades. I can tell you that none of my vehicles are that that low for 6 months. I believe the lowest is 427. With that said, I also don't carry minimum coverage. It's not worth it in this state due to the types of drivers I was advised years ago to go on the higher end, and I'm glad I did. I also carry them for homeowners and umbrella. |

I shopped around a lot before closing on new house in September. I went with State Farm. They provided best coverage for lowest cost and deductibles. We were with Liberty Mutual which would have cost double. My State Farm agent sat with me for over two hours and answered all of my questions. We agreed to have our driving monitored because it lowers your rates.
