Default Auto tint

I know that this has been asked before, but I cannot find any older posts. It is time to tint our car windows. Help! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I might agree if they actually got the job done during the the AM appointment which they had us wait for more than an hour because the installer was late to work. Unfortunately the owner told us he had to send his only installer home because he was in “no shape” to work. That was enough for us not to return.

Default Underglass

Underglass has tinted the windows on 2 travel trailers and 5 cars for me. They do an excellent job! Have been going to Underglass for years.

I have the windshield tinted with a clear but reflective film-seems to keep the interior cooler while parked. Also have the front windows tinted as dark as code allows.

I had a car done at Under Glass in Lady Lake next to Car Guys in May of 2017. I called and asked the price and then made an appointment for 2:00. I got there a few minutes early and there is a room full of boxes of speakers, tires and all kinds of automotive supplies with a desk and a girl and she said, you have to wait a bit. They had 6 metal chairs at one side of the room and a fellow was already sitting there.

I saw two people actually doing work, one was installing speakers in a car in the room I was sitting. In a separate bay area, there was a fellow putting tint on a truck. I figured I was after that car. There was really no one in charge other than the receptionist, who didn't seem to know much. I kept hearing her answer the phone and saying the owner wasn't there, he was taking care of his bees.

After about half an hour a guy walks in wearing full bee-keeping outfit, with pit helmet and screen and gloves, and said to me, what tint do you want on your windshield and he pointed to a display board. There were two heat lamps there you would see in a restaurant warming window. They both had tint over them, but when you held your hand in front of one, you didn't feel any heat and the other you felt hot. I said I'll take the one with the heat protection, he said that's the 3M, it's doesn't have any tint per say, but will keep the heat down in your car. He said that one is $250 installed and with the two front windows you're looking at $450. Since I was there and waiting, I said, alright, go ahead.

A couple of hours later, I leave and the tint seemed good although there was no difference really on the windshield. I figure the dash would probably appreciate it in the long run. If I had known then what I know now, I would of selected a different place. Price I thought was high, and I was there for about 3 hours with nothing but a folding metal chair. I mostly watched the guy apply tint to the truck before mine.
