Default Auto Tire Service Quest

(Omg, yet another post on auto tires!)

Apologies, but all the other threads I found were closed.

Did some foot work today checking out options. Yep, went to 'the place that is not to be named'. It was like they were doing me a favor. And most expensive of places I canvased.

Best deal was Sam's Club, and really nice guy. The tire place near Sam's seemed ok as well.

So, question, where to go for tires? Suggestions appreciated.

Go to Wildwood Tire Co, on Rt44 just east of US301. They sell several brands of tires. Family owned, honest, don't make up problems. 352-748-1739.

I recently bought four new Michelin tires for my SUV. I compared Wildwood Tire, Sumter Tire, Goodyear (near Home Depot), and Firestone in Oxford. The prices ranged from $925 to $1,160 for the exact same tires. Firestone was the cheapest and was able to install them within a few hours, even though they had to get them from Orlando. The others could not get them the same day.

Widwood Tire replaced 4 tires with Michelins. Great service. Get price online at their website.

Last set I bought I shopped Walmart online. Many choices, reasonably priced. They delivered to store and then installed them for a small fee. Free tire rotations when I get my oil changed there.

Thank you all. I'm very appreciative for the advice.

One off the subject question, if your vehicle is still under warranty are you bound to go to a dealer for service?

How does that work? Would any master mechanic be acceptable?

You may go anywhere you like for your vehicle service. Just make sure you are doing what is listed in the manufacturers service manual. Keep all your records and receipts!

One of the things that should be considered is tire and rim insurance. We are building in the new development and have had 2 flat tires in 3 weeks, both to close to the sides to allow patching. With this insurance, you will get free tire replacement.

Been buying tires from Barnett tire service, 605 W N blvd, Leesburg for years. 352-787-5453. This last time did ck Wildwood Tire but Barnett's beat their price!

Default Sumter Tire

I highly recommend Sumter Tire at 707 S. Main Street, Wildwood. Family owned and operated, friendly, honest and fast. Needed 4 tires, but wanted price more than mileage warranty. Was out the door with my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox with 40,000 mile rated tires for about $500, and they are wonderful.
