Many homes north of 466 are 20+ years old so getting close to the likely end of their useful lives

We have used McHales as well as many of our neighbors. They do great work and are very dependable. We do not hesitate recommending them.

McGinnis did mine and I am very happy with it

Roof is 23 years old, so insurance company is unhappy to renew policy in 2021

Not trying to change the thread subject too much, but since we will be purchasing a used home, does anyone have a link or statistics as to how long a Villages built home's roof is likely to last? I have found generic national statistics and even those for Florida, but I'm thinking the people here on TOTV have the first hand knowledge. I also realize that the home inspection before purchasing should address this (along with the big shingle issue I've read about), but once again, first hand experience can't be beat. Thanks in advance to all who respond.

As previous post from Arctic Fox said roughly 20 yrs. Then many insurance companies will not insure your roof. We had damage during Irma and had to replace ours. The shingles get old and brittle and are more easily damaged in a storm. Len

Dan Shepler Roofing. I had some work done by them and at first I wasn't pleased with the results. I called in my complaint and they sent some guys out with the directive to "make him happy." I was very pleased with the end result and their level of concern for the customer. They will have all my roofing needs in the future.

McHale did an excellent job on my brother's roof.

Roofs seem to be rated for 25 years here but, as well as the insurers getting antsy, neighbor opposite had to have a new roof at 21 years because buyer needed a mortgage and bank wouldn't sign off on an old roof

Did you get a quote from a contractor that isn’t close to the villages? Warranty ?

McHale put a new roof on two homes for us. Nathan was great to work with. Very happy with the experiences. Good luck.

McGinnis

McGinnis, did ours. One week from telling them to go ahead to the roof being installed. Showed up on day of installation at first light and gone by 2:30pm. Shingles were delivered around 10:30am day of installation, not a week before. Clean up was fantastic. Tried to tip after job was done and was told that they pay their workers good and that wasn’t necessary.

Sounds like McHale’s is worth checking out for my upcoming roof job. Stu

Thank you all for your input

We went with Eustis Roofing.

Yes, I know, that wasn't an option but since I wanted McGinnis and Mrs Fox wanted McHale we decided to split the difference.
