If you want a professional, hire a licensed electrician like Lenhart Electric. But, a good handyman can also do it.

If it is a NEW fan location, a permit is required and an inspection required if you are doing it yourself (or a handyman), I did my own, and this is what was required. If you are replacing a fan, then as stated above a handyman can do it, no inspections or permits. Also, if this is a new installation (or a conversion of a can light to a fan) you will need a holder rated for a ceiling fan (typically attic work). I offer this as it was not completely clear what type of work you were looking for.

We bought our fans from Dan's Fan City. I think the installer was a sub-contractor and he did a nice job and the price wasn't bad. Call DFC for more info if inclined.

Thank you for your reply. The fans I want to install are all in locations where a fan was planned to be put so I have the box, switch and wire already in place. My issue is that we have 12' ceilings and that causes me a bit of a problem otherwise I would install myself. Just looking for an experienced installer who is reasonable in cost.

Thank you for your response. We have been to Dans and may still buy from them and possible have them install but just looking to see if someone local may give a good deal on install.

I also bought a fan from Dan's Fan City to replace an original fan. At that time, if you spent $200, the installation was free. An electrician delivered and installed the fan in about 3 minutes. Good job.

OP, a handyman and an 8 foot ( or 10 foot) ladder and he should be good to go. I did this for a couple of neighbors, but I am getting out of this, too much other stuff to do.

Dan's had an ad in the paper just today, any fan they sell just $29 to install. That's better than even a handyman price.

There's no certification to install ceiling fans. You either know how to do it or you don't. I believe you don't.

Installing a ceiling fan would be covered under the "certified electrical contractor" license in Florida. You can verify whether someone has that type of license or any type of license on this website.

Licensing Portal - License Search

There are other people who will install ceiling fans, but they may not be certified or licensed to do it.

Just pay someone a fair price to do a good job.Wow I’ve never seen people trying to be so cheap.

Are you looking to install new or replace old? Need someone to take down old and put up new Do not like existing fans as they are different kinds in each room.
