Pretty much where you are in regards to Comcast, just outrageous to keep raising prices at that pace became "we can, because we have no real competition in most markets", however, they are now so far out of line we were also going to Dish. Then grown children said wait, hold off before you regret it.... and all went on to say that Dish also plays consumer games, they have had Dish in many markets and it always has gone even higher than when they had a cable company. So, you end up going through all the hassles of turning in equipment, having new people come and install new, and the when they double your price and keep adding on more "fees", you have to do it all again.... Maybe the really bright folks have the right idea, get a roku and then buy individually those channels you really use instead of having to take a group package to get the one or two you actually watch ???? Thought about it, then found to have internet ONLY to use the ruku exclusively, costs over $90 with all the taxes and "fees".... Can't get a break ! So, it you use firestick or roku, and take $60 in monthly channels, your right back to $160 a month bills !

DirecTV is a great satellite delivered product. You could alternatively get ATT Tv which is the streaming TV. Great product. I highly recommend it.

I pay $50/month for xfinity internet, $65/month for YoutubeTV. You can now get the locast app which will give you all the local Orlando stations for free (with ads) or for something like $5 or $6, ad free. I bought my own modem/router, so no paying rent to Comcast. That will pay for itself in 10 months and the equipment is better. I travel back and forth to another home, YoutubeTV goes with me. No separate equipment.

Can you elaborate on the brand and model number of modem/router and ball park price? That interests me?

Interesting? I can live with $160 month, but when it turns into $265 for less than I had 2 years ago got to go.

Up north I have a Netgear C7000 modem/router combo. House up north is huge and no wifi issues anywhere in the house or around the yard. It was just on sale at Best Buy for $170. In the Villages I went with a Motorola modem/router combo. The Motorola was not available in-store at Best Buy but available to order on their website. I went to the xfinity website to make sure both were compatible and had close to the latest specs.

A Roku stick costs about $50 but I purchased three for $29.99 each on sale. Centrylink fiber is $65 a month forever or you can go a bit slower for $45 a month forever. There are thousands of movies FREE via Roku. You can use LoCast.org to pick up a slew of local stations LIVE for free. I get probably 25 stations broadcasting....or more. I pay for YoutubeTV because it has unlimited DVR recording and I can watch a lot of stuff that way, by fastForwarding through the commercials. Yes, YoutubeTV went up to $70 mo because they added more networks and they had to pay for the additional networks. If you don't like that, you can pay about $20 mo using one of the other streaming networks on your Roku. My daughter shares her PrimeVideo with us so we can get some newer stuff. Plus we can rent videos via RedBox with the Roku or several other networks that rent out movies. If you like just about any subject, you can hook up with Roku either free or sometimes with a one time registration of a buck. Old movies, westerns, auto shows, gun shows, cooking shows, etc. Hundreds of times more than you get with cable.
I was paying over $225 a month for comcast, including Internet. It kept going up and there was something like 13 fees and taxes tacked on. If I want HBO, I subscribe to it and I can quit on line instantly without talking to anyoone. Same with Stars, or any other subscribed network. Just click on it and turn it off. Simple.

How do you record on Utube TV?

Every time I go past the Comcast store near Starbucks there is a long line of people outside who are returning their equipment and canceling their service. And Comcast couldn’t care less.

It's real simple. You locate the show you wish to record and click on it. In the upper left corner you will see a Plus(+) sign for adding it to your library. Once you do that, you can go to your library and check the scheduling and see when it will come on next. Once you add it to your library, if there are older episodes that aired recently, it will add them to your library so you have the option of going back and watching them again. There is no/NO limit to how much or how long you record them. Unlike Comcast, there is no limit to how much you can save or how long you save it. The only reason I have YoutubeTV is for the DVR. I can get almost every channel they offer, just about free or individually for a small fee IF I want to get the channels separately.
Locast.org is free and it takes your location and gives you all the local stations that broadcast free, such as NBC, CW, ABC, FOXlocal, etc. At least 25 here, some from Orlando, some from Tampa and some other local areas.
I save at least a hundred bucks a month, and I could go totally free,other than the internent, if I wished.
You can use Redbox on line to rent new movies, or you can do as I do and go on the Internet and download movies to my phone and cast them to my TV.

I found a great combination of streaming services that give us everything we want. I had HULU with live TV and no ads but the price went up considerably. We use Century Link for internet at $49/mo for life and stream Sling Blue with news extra (because hubby likes to watch Fox news and Fox business), Locast for all local channels and Netflix (which we share with our son). All together it comes to just under $100/mo. We are very happy with this combination and can switch any streaming service anytime.
