Default Direct TV acting crazy

For the last few weeks our Direct TV service has been doing strange things. It's recording things we didn't want recorded, some days it deletes recordings with no rhyme or reason, it switches channels at odd times on it's own, messages pop up saying wireless bridge lost, cannot access some channels sometimes, etc....
We've had technicians out twice so far, another scheduled for tomorrow. Both said the same thing " Direct TV having software problems, they're working on it". Then they fool around with the remote(one while carrying on a personal conversation on his cell phone) then look at us and say something like it'll work better now. Ha, that's a joke!
Anyone else have these issues?

We don't have DirecTv anymore but they were excellent service wise to us. We had the exact same problem twice and both times it turned out to be the Main Box. Replace the Box and we were fine. There is a cool way to still watch your TV during storms. Its a little trick with the remote that we learned from the Tech who came out.

Be certain to ask for a Company Repairman instead of a Contractor. We seemed to get our repair on the first try using that technique. Good Luck.

Nucky is right. Call Directv and tell them you need a new box. This will fix your problem. I've had Directv for 18 years and am getting pretty good at diagnostics and repairs on my system. Good Luck Len
