DirecTv Service
We are having our roof replaced the end of April and will have to remove the DirecTv Dish (keeping wiring to it connected) on our roof taken off then more importantly replaced after. Can't get to DirecTv service because of the virus situation. Does anyone know of someone or a TV company that could re attach to our roof. Thanks.

When we lived on our boat, we had a Dish that was controlled by an auto-pilot device -we used it while we were anchored out--very easy to align Direct TV, Direct TV gives you the lat/lon and elevation for your area-on the Dish mount there are elevation angles, get a compass and rotate to the heading, on a TV the screen will tell you when you have optimum signal; however, if you can avoid having the dish mounted on your roof do so, way better to have it mounted on a post on your property

You should give consideration to mounting it on an exterior wall instead of the roof, to help protect the integrity of your roof. Mounting on the exterior wall protects the dish from being beat from all directions. If you live in a block or concrete home the anchors has a lot stronger material to attach to than the OSB in the roof.
We've been lucky over the years with Irma and the other storms but that of course is just luck. Don't give yourself a weak spot for damage to start on your roof during a storm. If the dish gets ripped off by the storm that is where the roof damage will start and will spread rapidly from there.

Our DirectTv dish is mounted on a pipe in the ground between our house and our neighbors.
