The owners live there so you just have to walk up to the house or call them on the cell phone number (?) listed on their sign in front of their gate.

This was an unfortunate incident, however, it could happen anywhere.

We take our dogs to the dog park on Huey Street & Powell road.
There are benches and huge oak trees for shade.
In addition, it's close and free!

I know a nice woman that goes there when Beau is not trying to get Lucky.

Sable99, you can take copies of your pup's papers and leave them either in the mailbox that's along the entrance fence (or used to be, anyway), or the money box where you sign in.

The mail box is still there. The money boxes are easier to get to if you park in their parking lot. There is one in the entryway to both the small dog section and one in the big dog section. They empty these quite often too and keep a good eye on them.

Thanks for the info! I did sign in and put my money in the money box. And, Lexi has all her paper work but they didn't see it.

We visited Doggie Do Run Run when my home was still on the long term rental market. We had to rent a home and the park was nearby. I can stay at my home now and Atlas is a 10 minute golf cart ride away.

I believe the Villages Dog Parks do have that restriction, it's on the sign before you enter.

At Doggie Doo Run Run, the owners live on site. Any problems can be brought immediately to them. I'm wondering who, if anyone, is monitoring the TV dog parks and enforcing the rules.

I have heard that they have busybodies at a few of them who are kind of self-appointed monitors of the rules. I have never been asked though for my resident card at any of the Villages' dog parks I have been to in quite some time.

Atlas dog park is still on my to do list.

I was at Atlas a while back and there was a family in the small dog park that I was pretty sure did not reside in TV. I say that because it appeared to be three generations (with children) and he might have been on one of the construction projects. Just a feeling I had.

I have had a member of The Villages Staff check my ID several times at the Mulbury Dog Park. If you follow the rule of keeping watch over your pet from becoming aggressive, and pick up after them, the "busybodies" will leave you alone.

I wonder if a certain javelin thrower still enforces the rules up there?

I've been to Atlas several times and talked to people who didn't live in The Villages. I never thought about it. I thought the dog parks were for the general public. I guess they aren't. I've never been asked for ID there, nor have I seen anyone providing vac. papers for their dogs. I quit going there because at the time we go, there is a dog who, while not mean, riled every other dog up by chasing and barking, until the whole pack was tumbling around all over the place. My guy is too old for that and has a plate in his wrist, so I decided it's not a good place for us.

There is often a problem person or dog wherever you go. Beau likes to chase a bigger dog and the lady who owns the bigger dog is so patient and kind putting up with Beau's antics. Once in a while he bites off more than he can chew too and tries to play with dogs he should avoid. Or steers. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...t-beef-240968/

To my way of thinking, the biggest problem with Atlas is no shade.
No trees, no kind of shade whatsoever.

Ahhhh . . . nothing like taking your dog there with 94 degree weather on a sunny day in July!

How dumb is that??!?
