Paul,

I went to one of the seminars put on by Andrew Curtis, a local attorney, for setting up trusts and other estate planning docs. Was impressed enough with his credentials and prices to go ahead and use him to setup a single revocable living trust, pour over will, health care directive, and durable power of attorney. I needed to create a trust and update all these other docs after moving to FL. Total cost for all docs was $525. I would recommend him for creating the necessary docs. I think he's doing a seminar this Wednesday at comfort suites near Spanish Springs.

Prior to this, I had stopped in to Citizens Trust, thinking they provide similar services. Well, they are primarily financial advisors and can act as your trustee (for a fee) if you setup a trust. Also heard Mary Trotter(?? - I think that was her name) give an estate and trust presentation to local ladies club. She seemed competent.

We are wary of TV trust offices - if we had estate questions we'd ask Fross & Fross which are probably the best in the area for financial/estate planning plus they have excellent legal inroads.

I have read several of your post recommending Fross & Fross, how long have you been using them?

I do not use any establishments owned by or affiliated with TV i.e banks, lawfirm, liquor stores, etc. They made all their going to make on me from the purchase/build of my home.

The Millhorn law firm has a very focused group of attorneys who specialize in estate and trust planning.

I suggest folks to not use the same people who counsel their investments to do their estate/trust planning. Too much opportunity for conflict of interest. It is always better to have a completely independent entity like a law firm to help sort out the planning.
