Pool progress

We're also talking with Fiesta - would appreciate an update - Tom

Forgot to say that Fiesta are also quoting a 5 week build time against All Seasons 12 to 14 weeks :a040:

The reason given is that they use all their own staff not sub-contract the work out.

We will see if they can do it. :police:

If anyone wants to have a look at the quality and speed of the work as it progresses, please PM us and we will send you our address.[/QUOTE]

Some more pictures of the pool sheeted up ready for the concrete to be poured.

The high sheeting stops the concrete from the pressure jet splashing either onto the garden or onto the house - we think it was a nice touch and showed that they are keen to minimise construction 'damage' - nice touch :clap2:

The top picture shows the high pressure hose and also in the foreground, the pipes for the pressure testing of the plumbing pipes before they are buried in the concrete! :MOJE_whot:

Still very please with progress, standard of workmanship and work ethic :BigApplause:

The photos are great - We also got prices from T&D and All Seasons - they were close, and both gave 10-12 weeks - I think I'll call Fiesta - Their work looks terrific !

We just talked to someone who is in their 17th week with All Seasons install :rant-rave:

Saw a truck outside doing work on their pool from Reliance pools so they are subbing out work, that may be fine or not.

Laptop problem

Hi Guys,
Sorry about the lack of pictures for a few days.

Broke my laptop and had to get a new one and I don't know how to reduce photo size with this one yet!!!:sing:

Just to say that the work is still going very well and talked to David (one of the brothers) on Friday, just TWO WEEKS after start and the forecast is still 4 to 5 weeks to complete. :crap2:

Update;
All the plumbing is in around the pool, including 23 jets around the pool and 8 in the Spa.

The tiling is almost finished and the reinforcing bar is in for the deck, they are waiting for the Inspector to come Monday or Tuesday and then they will be pouring the deck.

As soon as we master this damn laptop we will post more pictures of the progress and up to now we are very happy with Fiesta Pools. :MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:

still struggling

Sorry guys,

Bought the latest Microsoft 'Surface' pad to replace my laptop which runs the very latest windows software and it is a nightmare.

However, enough of my troubles, I will crack how to reduce photo memory size if it kills me. :0000000000luvmyhors

The work is still progressing nicely, all the tiling is now done and they have been busy today landscaping all the soil around the site getting everything squared away for pouring the deck, they have a bit more of the remote plumbing to do. :a040:

The Building Inspector was on site today to have a look at the forming boards, rebar and equipotential bonding for all the deck concrete and to check the pressure testing on the plumbing - he passed everything ok, so the next couple of days should get the deck poured. :a040:

We have been working out today how many days they have had actually on site and they started on Friday the 27th Sept, worked Saturday then had Sunday off, then worked all week and had Saturday and Sunday off then the concrete was poured and they were off the next day, then they had that weekend off as well, so all in all they have worked just 12 days working (damned hard) to get ready for pouring the deck, we are well pleased. :coolsmiley:

Preparing for the big day

A Pre-Big day today, just finishing the preparations for pouring the deck tomorrow - Yippee. :a040:

Still impressed with the work rate and attention to detail. :bigbow:

Also have Solar Lights here today doing the Solar Heating panels, we are having 9 x 4ft x 12ft panels and we are also having a Solar light for the laundry room and a Solar attic extraction fan whilst they are up there - phew :0000000000luvmyhors

Photo's will be posted as soon as we have cracked how to on the new PC. :spoken:

Hi Guys,
Still struggling with reducing pic size on my new laptop - so frustrating :throwtomatoes:

However, not to be beaten I have borrowed the bosses (Wife's) laptop and reduced a couple of pictures with that :MOJE_whot:

In a nutshell, after three weeks :BigApplause: the deck is poured!

The white band in the bottom picture is a polystyrene strip they stick onto the tiles and fasten back in order to get a nice round and smooth finish on the edge when they pour the deck - again the Fiesta Team have done all the work, no subcontractors - it was heavy work and the sweat was pouring off them. :clap2:

Waiting now for the finish coat on both the deck and in the pool, we are very pleased with how the whole project is coming. :MOJE_whot:

Also had SolarLights put us some Solar Panels on the roof, contracted to fit 9 but couldn't get them on :grumpy: just fitted 7 for now and we have told them where we want the others

Great photos...great progress.

Hi Guys,

A lot of activity today, two teams on site, the Fiesta Team and another team doing the deck finish - Yes, Sub-contractors! -Fiesta said they use them (Deck Finish experts) when they have either a big job on or a lot of work/time pressure on, apparently now with this job, they have both. :BigApplause:

A few more pictures, yes on the wife's laptop (alright, don't rub it in!)

Masking up before deck finish to protect the tiles (1)

Plumbing and edging today

Hi Guys,
Fiesta worked on the plumbing today around the new pump motors (2 x 3hp) and put the large filter and Heat Pump in place. :coolsmiley:

They also put all the small edging tiles around every lip/edge in the pool and spar, thousands of them, well hundreds anyway. :a040:

SolarLights also came and put 2 more panels on the roof. :0000000000luvmyhors

Visit from Fiesta's Birdcage people today to show us the engineering drawings, they are still waiting to get the plans approved, they hope to have them by Thursday. :bigbow:

The Electrician is due tomorrow and the white waterproof finish is due in the pool Thursday.

It is just into week 4 and they are still confident that we will start to fill with water this weekend - bang on time! :bigbow:

lugnut 10-25-2013 01:15 PM

Did they do all the necessary permit and Architectural review committee applications? How long did it take to get those approvals?

junction29 10-27-2013 08:05 PM

Yes

Hi Lognut,
Yes, we did not have to do anything, they did the lot.

They said it could take around two weeks to get all the permits etc, depending upon how they hit the various committee days, in fact they had all the permits in less than two weeks and started the day after the permits were issued. :a040:
