He then proceeded to try to up-sell me on various services that Frank Gay offered and that I had not asked for. It was obvious to me he'd been wound up like a tin soldier by his bosses to try to up-sell everything he could think of, whenever he gave a customer estimate. I half expected him to tell me I needed the air in my car tires changed and that was a service they offered. I eventually used Sun State Power for my work. Their electrician laughed when I told him what the Frank Gay electrician had said. After dealing with their representative, I will never do business with Frank Gay, nor will I recommend them.

Way to go, I use them worse mistake I ever made.

Kalos

I had Kalos install our Mitsubishi mini-split. Very pleased with their service and their pricing.

No, don't do it! My parents got a water heater from them not long ago...over 2,000.00!

I had my system replaced a few months ago by SunKool. It was a positive experience. In the past, Kiley installed a "whole house water filter" system for us. When I needed to change the filters, I went to Kiley. They had sold to Frank Gay who would replace the two filters for $230.00. They wouldn't sell me the filters, but would install them for the quoted price. I bought two sets of filters for about $30 from Amazon and over the years installed them myself.

I would not go to Frank Gay plumbing for any type of service or repair. Frank and Jesse James ride again.

can you elaborate on the new regulations

In 2025, the refrigerant used in HVAC systems will change to improve the environment. Some say that this will cause prices for new systems to increase by 20 to 25 percent. Personally, I think this is mostly a scare tactic to get people to buy older systems before the end of 2024. Time will tell.

This DuckDuckGo search is a good place to start.

It looks like equipment *manufactured* after 1/1/25 must meet the new standards. Equipment manufactured prior to that date must be installed by 1/1/26.

I had DeSantis replace mine. I thought they were competitively
priced and did a great job. They replaced the copper and wiring out to the outside compressor. Some don't but they told me the old lines could contaminate the new coolant. Checked with a buddy of mine in HVAC and he agreed. Extremely happy.

Time for a new HVAC system? I highly recommend you call DeSantis as they have done 2 homes for us, one 3 years ago and the other 4 months ago. Very competitive pricing and service is excellent. New owner that bought the company about 2 years ago from the DeSantis family after Mr. DeSantis passed away, has upgraded everything from building, equipment and employees.

Another reason:
Some American HVAC systems (including Trane) ASSEMBLE in the USA, using parts made in Mexico. Tariffs are going to be jacking up the already-inflated prices.

Get your expensive stuff now while you can still afford the payments.

So, I guess the NFTA wasn’t that free or fair was it.
