He can be buried in the Veterans cemetary in Bushnell for free. I don't know the details, but they can assist you at the American Legion on Rolling Acres Rd.

I would suggest she talk to a reputable full service funeral home, like Beyers. Hey are a family run business and offer tremendous complimentary after death service and support. The can assist in arranging internment at the large military cemetery. They can arrange an appropriate non-religous military service.

The national cemetery at Bushnell is an impressive place. Not only do they provide the plot and actual burial, a group of retired, uniformed military provide the entire graveside service, including the “sermon”, bugler and ceremonial firing squad.

I’ve gone to funerals there where the procession of cars are lead from the local church or funeral home to the cemetery by a police escort. I think all the big local funeral homes know how to organize such a funeral.

Or a call to the national cemetery office itself would get the widow-to-be started in the right direction.

military honors are provided WHEN REQUESTED by family to funeral home. They will make all the arrangements. Beyers I’d a great funeral home and works very closely with all veterans organizations in the area.

Contact the VA administration and consider being placed at the National VA cemetery in Burnell Florida or any National Cemetery . It is close by and a beautiful cemetery. Plot and headstone provided to military service person and spouse can also be placed at no cost. And they provide nice service at grave site for military person.

Services are not graveside, they are in committal shelters. 30 mins is the allotted time

Seeking guidance and advice for a fellow villager who's husband is terminally ill and his death is imminent regarding non-religious funeral services and a burial site near the villages as she plans on continuing to live here.

The gentleman is an honorably retired service member and both are on a limited income. The lady has minimal family support and i am trying to assist her the best i can. Any guidance, suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

i have been to bushnell cremains vaults many times especially to the newest ones. Some of the deceased vets had humorous last words inscribed on their name plate. All hail america's greatest generation .

If you wish to arrange for full military honors, for veterans from all branches of the service, at a burial service at Florida National Cemetery The Marine Corps League in The Villages can assist. Feel free to contact me.

The least expensive place for a no frills direct cremation is Baldwin Brothers. If you want to use a funeral home, undoubtedly the best.place is Beyers.

I would only add the Florida department of Veterans affairs
office closest to where you live in addition to the Veterans affairs
national phone number and of course the VA hospital near you . In most cases the Florida department of Veterans affairs has an office there . The funeral home can help with military ceremonies. Having the DD214 is good and us older Veterans social security number was our military ID . Very sorry

You mean those from 1969 on , believe me that’s not old
