Garage Door Screens
I have a courtyard villa and am considering a screen for my garage. I would love any suggestions or recommendations on what to purchase. Thanks in advance.

We used Cool Breezes for out lanai. Best price and warranty after getting 3 quotes. Lonnie and Jeff did a great install, 888-896-8935.

They did my home several years ago. Good choice.

We have the screens that are four panels and are slid to either side manually to open. They are, I believe the least expensive way to go, but have some drawbacks.
If you park your car in the garage, it is more difficult backing out because entrance width is about 30% more narrow. Gotta be real careful. They come with several types of screening. If you get the type that allows privacy, you really cut down on the amount of air that flows easily into the garage. They are not automatic, you always see them, they can be easily removed and stored inside in the event if a hurricane. Hope this helps a bit Bob |

Regardless of whether you get the automatic or manual configuration, I would recommend you get a white or light color screen material. The white or light color screens block being able to see inside your garage from the street. With a dark color screen material, you can see through the screen to the inside without any problems.

I put them on our garage 10 years ago. They lasted a couple of years before I threw them away. My wife backed through them 4 times with the golf cart, I would hammer them straight and put them up again, then she backed through them and ran them over with the car and totally trashed them. Just something to think about, I have never put them back up.
