Also, don't ever stand on a granite countertop to replace a light bulb. I would suggest that you look at quartz as an alternative to granite. It seems to be replacing granite as the new modern trend in countertops.

We were going with granite in our last house and after our research and conversation with some people we revisited our initial decision and went with quartz. Very pleased with our decision.
