I'm pretty sure you will not be able to buy a piece of granite and then hire someone else to cut it and install it. There are lots of good granite and quartz contractors on other threads on this website. Do a search. But, if you want to just look at samples to start, go to Home Depot. Personally, I prefer quartz over granite, and I think it is becoming more popular. A lot of the new houses have quartz, and you can see them at open houses every day.

I did see some posts about who some people used but no comments really about a large warehouse that u can browse them. Home depot and Lowes offer a small quantity to choose from and we do not want to use them after some bad previous experiences

Ultimate Granite, 452 Rolling Acres Rd, Lady Lake, Florida 32159, claims to have 10,000 slabs in stock, but I don't know anything about their work.

I have quartz counter tops. Home depot and Lowes have 2x2 inch samples, which was large enough for me, because the pattern doesn't change.

I am very happy with quartz and am planning to put into my next home.

Our stone came from this supplier, when we needed matching stone, we were able to find it there, HOWEVER, they do NOT cut or install. We contacted home warranty, got the name of the original installer, and told them what we wanted. They got the correct stone, cut it to size, and polished, I did the install.

We just replaced our formica counter tops with quartz. We went to quite a few places but in the end used Duncan Stone in Tavares.

We shopped around for 2 months. Took home samples, Stratton came out & took measurements. We got a good price @ Stone Rise. We chose Cambria Quartz countertops! Love them
5205 CR 171, Wildwood #352-388-5600. Their website www.village.granite.com Tell them Joyce & Bill sent ya.
Please let me know what you think?

We loved Stone Central and working directly with the owner and, in my opinion, the best stone guy in the world, Phil Shibler. We had our countertops replaced with quartzite, which is a natural stone similar to granite but harder than granite. Quartz is a manmade product where quartzite is the natural stone. Phil is the best there is with any stone product or stone composite: granite, quartz, quartzite, etc. Here is his website. He is located in Wildwood: Home

Classic Rock in Leesburg, definitely worth the drive. 1000s of selections, great quality and reasonably priced. They have from low grade to high. You pick out your own slabs too They do it all!

Ultimate granite has the most granite and all the grades. The can make recommendations for people to cut it. I had Burns on 441 cut and install mine.

We used Ultimate Granite on Rolling Acres last year. We very happy with their work. We shopped a half dozen granite yards including a trip to Ocala.
Besides Ultimate Granite, Stone Rise has an office/showroom on 44 west of Morse on the south side. Heather is very nice. They have a granite yard on 301 south of 44. There’s another show room/ yard, maybe 2 behind Russel Stovers on 44. Then there’s the kitchen remodeling show room in the strip mall
on 301 south of 466a. Some of these places use the same contractor to cut and install.
As far as granite or quartz. It’s mostly a matter of the look. Granite is a very irregular/nature designed pattern.
Quartz is an exact pattern. No variation.
Hope that helps. They advertise in the Daily Sun almost daily with sales.

We were looking for a countertop for our bathrooms.
There is a place on Rolling Acres Road almost across from the elementary school. They have full slabs but they have an outlet for part slabs located near by.
However, we bought a partial slab from a wonderful business on 441 (Fruitland, FL). It is set back a little off highway, I think on the East? Side of 441 and before the stop light/intersection. (The slabs were outside their wearhouse.)

They were great! Came to house to measure and had it installed wi a week. It was also a great price.

For those of you with the Gardenia...what are we talking about as far as price goes for installing granite or quartz in the kitchen and the two bathrooms?
