Does anyone have an opinion about the quality of work and services of the Leaf Filter Company?

You can find gutter covering that works great and are very inexpensive at Lowes. Real easy to put on or a handyman could do easily and for a lot less money than Leaf Filter. They are doing a lot of expensive advertising - I don't think their prices would be inexpensive.

I like the commercials. But, I don't think that most houses in The Villages really need gutter coverings, unless you have tall trees dropping leaves into your gutters.

OP, double check the size of your gutters, the ones i had installed here seem to be wider than I remember the ones back up North. Also, I did the install yourself ones, and these had to be notched where the gutter supports were installed, this depends greatly on the type of gutter mount used. The other item was while one side snapped on to the gutter, the other side needs to go UNDER the shingles. The ones back up north were glued to the ice dam fabric, this probably will not be a concern here. Just do some checking before you buy a lot of these.

Also, the leaves slide down the roof unto the guards and some will get stuck in the openings, then if they get wet before they blow or slide off, they will not move off the guards. I would have to get up on a ladder anyway to clear them off. I had these up North, not same company, bought mine at Lowe's and installed them DIY. Also as time went along, the granules from the shingles would wear off and go into the gutters so I had to pull them and clean them out. I would ask for a reference before having the work done.

I had them out, their first price was $36 a foot, before he left it was down to $12.50 a foot. still to rich for my blood.

I had those in Atlanta where my house was surrounded by trees. I had the gutters inspected regularly, and they fixed the one clog I had in 22 years free. It is expensive.

Just my opinion, but unless you live under a very large Live Oak tree, why would you need gutter covers? There aren’t many trees that are much taller than the house itself so it seems to me like a large waste of money.

I got a quote on my house in Atlanta. Currently I pay $100 a year to have someone come out and clean my gutters. Leaf Filter only quoted me $5,200 and that was after a senior and veteran discount. I chuckled. It would only take me 52 years to break even. So, if I don't live beyond the age of 123 I wouldn't break even. It was a very hard choice but I turned it down. I check my gutters here in the Villages every year. I think I've seen maybe 5 leaves in the past 4 years.

Whoa! $36 per foot? A small designer house with gutters all around would have about 220 linear feet of gutters. So, the gutter covers would cost about $8,000. Wow!

I agree with your comment! I would think most of us don’t need them but I wouldn’t put a lot of money in spouting filters. There’s just to many money grabbers out there trying to cash in & take advantage of us retirees. Don’t buy something if you really don’t need it & don’t let someone convince you that you need it because they say you do. Remember retirement areas are black holes for uncalled for services!

Had them on my house up north. Any rain other than a soft shower ran right over them. Heavy rain like in Florida would render them useless. Waste of money in my opinion.
