Default The Handy Guy of The Villages

I called an ad in the Daily Sun for The Handy Guy of The Villages. He advertises that he is lic./Ins. When I questioned him on his papers he got annoyed and told to call someone else "that I was not the type of person he wanted to do business with". I did! I call Mr. Handyman.....very professional.

Good for you Lindan501. A little due diligence sure goes a long way. The colossal nerve to ask for credentials. Thanks for plying the tough question that many have a hard time doing. He may very well be a competent tradesman but it sure told you something about his character.

I suspect this is common with a "handyman".

It would be rare to find someone who holds a current license in all the building trades, electrical, construction, plumbing, AC/heating, etc.

I would want them insured to be on my property, however.

Yah, he probably has a driver's license and maybe auto or homeowners insurance, so he'll claim he's not lying. Nothing to do with the business he is in. Nice guy to do business with!
