Default Has anyone taken the Villages Shuttle from Orlando airport lately?

We are flying down for the first time after 20 years of driving and wondered if anyone can tell us just what they have encountered on the shuttle. Wondering how many people were in the vehicle and the usual safety concerns during this pandemic. Would it be better to rent a car for the one-way trip? Thanks in advance for your input

I’m fortunate to have neighbor or friends transport us.

I’ve taken it 3 times. The last time I took it the driver informed me active military ride for free which I am, and I did. Prior to knowing this I payed 40.00 still a great bargain. I tipped 10.00 so 50.00 was still a great deal IMHO. I tipped 20.00 on the last ride since my trip was free.

Hope someone is able to give you some input/advice. Just writing an answer that "I have friends, or I have neighbors, who take me ", sure doesn't do much to help you does it ! I wish I could tell you something helpful from personal experience, but, Groome Transportation (WELL thought of in other areas of Florida) started here in the V's just before all this virus panic started so don't know the present state of things. But, 3 close friends used them, last one in March when they came to visit me, and they all were very very pleased with everything, the vehicle, driver, promptness, and price. The number was (352) 539-9664 when my friends and family used them (March was last time !), but you could call and ask their present situation, precautions due to virus (like do passengers HAVE to wear masks he entire trip, etc. ?)

We used the Village Airport Van because they picked you up at the airport and took you to your front door. This was in August. We all had masks on and there was one to a seat except if you were with family.

Be ready for people talking on their cell phones. Usually from the time they get on the shuttle until they get off in Orlando. Or, people who sit in front and talk to the people in the back. Because they're so loud, it becomes annoying .

The Villages Transportation is now "Workman Transportation" and has not been operating for some time due to the coronavirus pandemic. They just opened back up, and this is the message on their website:

"Our Airport Shuttle will resume operations on Monday, September 28th with a limited schedule. Visit our website to see details, schedule & book online NOW."

I recently used Village Airport Van for a shuttle to the airport, and generally they were OK about the safety of their passengers. There was one woman on the shuttle who didn't cover her mouth and nose in her mask, which concerned me. But they enforced social distancing by limiting seating. I would use them again.

Before Covid I was using The Villages Transportation which is now Workman two or three time a month and they are great. If more than one person it is better value to Uber if you want home pickup. In an Uber right now and will be $82 plus tip.

Consider renting an Enterprise car at MCO. Did that once Thanksgiving 2018 for $59 (after coupons, discounts etc) + about $10 in gas and tolls for a mid-size car. You can be your own driver and not at the mercy of waiting for or counting on someone else. Enterprise has location at LSL. There is also a Hertz office in Spanish Springs but when I had checked they were almost triple the price. Haven't checked rates recently but when biusiness is slow you can likely get a good deal with some research. If you are a Costco member they have some good weekend deals but not sure if you can get a 1=way 1=day deal.

Last Uber I was in smelled like it came from India....I think the driver had a bowl of curry in the front seat and was burning incense to Krishna...I had my head halfway out the window the whole way home from the airport to keep from throwing up

I used Village Airport Van this past Saturday. They showed up at my house on time. There was one passenger per row and everyone was masked. I was pleased with the service. Cost was $40.

Creative Concierge 352-233-4269, I used them in July and the service was excellent 5 stars. Direct route to and from airport to your house.
