Default Home euthanasia for my dog

Hi, I’m moving to the villages in the next couple of weeks and have a sick dog with congestive heart failure. I do not know of any veterinarians in the area and I want to be prepared when I move there. I know with the covid, you can no longer go into a vets office (they take the dog from you in the parking lot) which would mean my dogs last moments on this earth will be with a stranger rather than me comforting her.
I need the name of a compassionate veterinarian that will come to my home when the time comes.
Very very much appreciated.

Default Euthanasia

We go to Dr. Porter in Wildwood. He recently put my sister’s dog down. She was able to be with her dog. They arranged for the cremation as well. At his office I picked up a business card for Florida Home Euthanasia, 407-347-2259.
You are wise to be proactive about such a difficult decision. Best to you and your pup

I hate to suggest this, however...
If your pet is so ill you are anticipating having to put it down, have you considered how hard the move down here will be for it?

You may feel it is premature, but consider having this done before your move. Your current vet may be more prone to accommodate your need for a more personal experience. I know it’s hard to do at any time, but congestive heart failure can have a poor outcome very suddenly and sooner than you expect.

Default PAWS Animal Hospital

My 12 year old beagle had to be euthanized a few months ago, and while PAWS Animal Hospital has strict parking lot only access policies, when he had to be euthanized, I was allowed to carry him into the facility by the side door, and we were put in a private room so my beloved dog could spend his last minutes with me. I have nothing but good things to say about PAWS Animal Hospital, located in Laurel Manor.

Give Dr. Rebecca Fratello call at 352-815-0404. She is wonderful! We called her with no notice late evening and she came to our home at 11PM.

We feel your pain!

Thank you so much. I’ve been involved in dog rescue for over 25 years and just moved up here. I know how important it is to be with you pet at the end and it’s even better to do it in your own home.

Dr. Porter is excellent. I hesitate to recommend him because he is busy. He really is a compassionate, smart vet. The office is very "worn." But we totally trust him.

On Saturday we had to have our 15 year old Bichon euthanized. Based on past experience we took our boy to U of F Pet Emergency Center in Ocala. They are very humane and we were with our boy until the end. They open when all other facilities close.
