Default Identify what happened to my Palm Tree.

I don't know how long this has been happening. This is on a side I don't see very often.

Can anyone tell me what is going on with my Canary Date Palm?

I don't know, but our Sylvester palm was struck by lightning and turned completely brown two weeks later. It had a vertical gash on it but not as big as the one in your photo.
