Default Italian Bakery

Is there one in the area that has good Italian bread like I used to get up north?

Where are Napolinos and Frank Piccas?

Are these restaurants? I'm talking about a bakery where I can take the bread home.

By the way, I'm from Boston and we have a unique Italian bread there called Scala Bread. I don't know if that can be found anywhere around here.

Scali bread. I don't think you'll find it outside of eastern MA. It's a Boston thing. See if you can find out where Demshars gets THEIR bread - it's yeasty, the crust is crispy-crusty and the inside is melt-in-your-mouth soft and moist, just like a good italian loaf should be.

I would go to Mazzaros Italian Market but it's in St. Pete. It's a FANTASTIC place with all you can imagine homemade. BTW: if you go, would you pick up a few items for me?

Dr. Winston, have you tried the scala bread at Wal-Mart? Seriously, I've seen it in the 'fresh' there but have no idea what the Boston scala bread is like. They're smaller rolls that might crisp when put into the oven.

A musician from Boston? Do you happen to know James Montgomery? He's an old friend from back in the day.

Scali is a fat braided crusty italian bread baked with sesame seeds coating the outer surface.
