My Dr requested an MRI for me from LMI and I waited 1 week with no response from them. I called my Dr and they asured me they sent the request to them 1 weeks ago but would resend it again. After it was resent I again didn't get a response so I tried calling LMI but seemed to get routed off to no mans land and they never answered. Waited a few more hrs then another day and tried again and never could even get on a wait list to schedule a MRI. It took over 20 minutes of waiting to then finally get a real person. I asked what the problems where for lack of reponse and long waiting time to get a MRI scheduled but didn't get an answer or even a comment. WOW you would think with at least 4 locations now ( or 5 ? ) their response would be better than awful. I think they clearly need some competition or someone paying attention. Doesn't seem like I had this kind of issue in the past. I wonder if it has anything to do with The Villages now being deeply connected with Top 10 Un of Fl -- if it is I got a feeling we took a step backward? Anyone else going thru this with them?

I also stopped going to Lake Medical Imaging after the misread a foot X-Ray. I go to Sand Lake Imaging (on 466 behind Paramount Urgent Care). I think their radiologists are better.

I have never had an issue with them, either scheduling or testing.

You are describing my near exact experience. Two weeks from when doc said I would receive a scheduling call. I'm calling back and am actually sitting on hold as I write this -- so plenty of time to peruse postings, read emails, etc. etc. etc.

My dr couldn’t even get them to answer their phone. I got an X-ray at the competitor and haven’t gotten my results. Two days since xrays.

getting the order there seems to be the issue

We were sitting in a doctor's waiting room earlier today and the wife of a patient came in and said...I know that you've said you emailed it to Lake Imaging twice, but just give me the information and I'll hand carry it

One issue I had. Primary Dr ordered kidney ultrasound, I HAD the ultrasound. Dr. and myself requested a copy to go to the specialist for my first visit. Get to specialist and no report. While at this appointment they tried to no avail to get the report. After appointment I went to LMI wanted to know why it wasn’t sent, no reason it just wasn’t sent, offered to re send. Perfect right? Wrong one week later specialist called saying they didn’t get the report, and wanted to schedule me one of their own. Now my little mind is going and I’m thinking that my insurance is NOT going to pay for 2 of the very same test.
Long story short I had to go to Colony’s VHS, get a copy of the report and go all the way to Mulberry were the specialist is located and hand deliver. All this when a few key clicks could have happened.

I've also never had a problem with them. They have always been efficient, prompt and very nice. I did have one of their radiologists accuse me of being a Medicare cheat, because of a test he didn't think necessary. I ended up having surgery, proving I was right. Other than that unpleasantness, they have been great.

I have had a similar experience, but now I call for an appointment as soon as my doctor's office sends in the order. It works.

Same issue here. Dr. resent no call. Also gave up after being on hold too long. Feeling much better though, perhaps I saved money.

I have used Sand Lake for a couple years. They're newer, so have up-to-date equipment. I've never had any problems with them.

Lake Medical Imaging

Both my wife and I have had excellent service from them. The key is to get a copy of the doctor's order and deliver it in person. Most mistakes are made by the office personnel from both ends.

I had the same experience. It was extremely frustrating. When I finally got into LMI they were very efficient. My results came back the next day.

My doc sent orders to Lake imaging. I gave them 3 days to contact me. A phone call got the ball rolling.

Never expect "the system" or "others" to have your health #1 priority. Take charge, make a phone call or two.
