There's a lovely man in TV that converted a bunch of VHS tapes for me, he was super reasonable and worth every penny. His name is Don LeBlanc his ## is 860-309-7866.

We did it through Costco Yes Video several years ago and the price was reasonable. I just looked up the service and they are running a special of $12.53 per 2 hours of video, normally $32.

I just got an email from Legacybox. I was shocked at the prices they charge. The regular price to convert one VHS tape to digital is $31.25. In my opinion, most people will almost never watch the digital version. Has anyone used this service and are you satisfied with the results? Why not just preserve and watch the actual VHS tape when you want to?

I had that done with a VHS video several years ago. The problem is that VHS recordings used very old technology. The old NTSC analog system used 525 scanning lines per frame. Nowadays you are used to seeing 4000 pixels. The best interlaced VCR tapes will look jerky and muddy

I also used iMemories many years ago at $10 each. Sent them from SoCal to AZ. I had them digitized but not put on DVDs. I still have them store them all on their website for $50 annually. I recently also had them all sent to me on an external hard drive and then I loaded them onto my MacBook Air. The tapes were trashed after they were all digitized. It’s great to have it done!

I used LegacyBox a few years ago to convert super8/VHS/MiniDV content to digital.
I got the USB stick option. I was totally pleased with what I got.

Today is Black Friday.. They have some coupons out today. I would use them before they expire!

Legacy Box is grossly over-priced.
How do you think they pay for all that advertising?

South tree and other services (eg Costco) are safer and cheaper. There may also be local services.
