Default Mantle clock repair?

I don't have a fireplace mantle, anymore, but do have a nice Baldwin mantle clock from the 80s. Trouble is, it no longer works. Anyone have a recommendation for clock repair? Thank you.

I recall a thread earlier on clock repair, and just for kicks, I looked up the electric motor replacements (assuming this is an electric model). and the cheapest I could find these were over $50 each, I used to get these for $5 each. I mention this because the motor is typically the problem, so I am guessing that you will be looking at a minimum $100 repair bill. If you like the housing, you might be able to but in a replacement battery powered movement for less than $20 for parts.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the speedy reply. It's a key wound mechanical movement; I should have specified. Welcome to TV, from ABE!

I have a Linden purchased for my fireplace mantle in 1978. it still tells time accurately . This is the only house since then without a fireplace mantle but after some careful observations we have found an ideal spot for this treasure.

As to repairs . I collected a number of names. some may be dated.

Roger Soukup ( Chatham area) ( 352) 753 5553

Carr's Clock Repair (352) 399 5616

Joe Gibbs ( 352) 750 0821

Back In Time Clocks (352) 391 2111

Expert Clock Repair ( village resident) (352) 753 5553

Let me know who you chose and how it worked out.

Personal Best Regards:

I took my inoperative mantle clock to Joseph Gibb's residence, this afternoon. He explained to me my options, gave me an estimate, and I left the clock with him to replace the mechanical movement, with a digital quartz/battery-powered movement. The cost seems reasonable, and it should be ready in about a week. Looking forward to the end result. Thank you to all that provided suggestions for service. I appreciate it.
