Bogie for mayor. Always right on!

It took McLin Burnsed one month to send out an engagement letter on a matter unrelated to a house closing. We got the impression they were buried under with business.

Folks...the issue here is not a house closing. As it pertains to Estate planning, you will be dealing with differnet lawyers, different staff ....its like comparing apples and oranges.

We also were puzzled about going the BIG firm or the small firm. What we decided was when all is said and done, when we (or someone in our estate plan) would need these services, the small sole proprietor type lawyer would most likely be retired and you dont know who you would be dealing with. At least now we can hopefully develop a relationship with people that will be around in XX years.

Like i said its all a personal decision..but dont compare what happened on a house closing (good or bad) to the Estate planning side or ANY large law firm. They are practically separate and apart from each other.

You make a lot of assumptions in your conclusions.

No, I made no assumptions.
Some of what I said is fact and some my opinion.

And no, to expand is not bad.
That is exactly what McLin, etc., has done.
The increase of bodies within their firm
is good for them because it means more $$$.
That's the American way, isn't it?
However, it isn't always good and it isn't always good for everyone.
One size shoe does not fit all.

It never ceases to amaze me to hear people complain about business people with the balls and brains to take advantage of an opportunity to make money.

Without pointing the finger,
you obviously were referring to me.
That's okay; I can handle it.

I said "That's the American way, isn't it"
For your information, that wasn't sarcasm.
Me thinks you assume too much and are "amazed" too easily.

I think one of the things that bothers me about that entire group is the fact that the firm seems to have gotten on the band wagon of trying to accomodate every aspect of legal matters because of the ongoing souce of older people here, many of whom for the most part, take the path of least resistance or what I see as the easy way. It's the only law firm they know of so, "I'll go to them."

Through Morse, they sat back and have had business handed to them because of the connection. Years ago, obviously, they saw dollar signs in their future, and got on the band wagon of adding other attorneys to their group, who could handle things other than real estate closings.

I see so many signs of gimme, gimme, gimme and take, take, take in the overall community, that it has soured me on many fronts. It is hard for me to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I find it difficult accepting that just because they are big and do things for the developer, they are the best. In most cases, that kind of association is usually not true.

Personally, I much prefer to deal with a smaller firm or individual where I am not just a number who is filed away the moment I walk out the door.

a. how could you possibly know this to be true?
b. IMO it's very insulting to TV folks to insinuate that they are like sheep and need to take the "path of least resistance" (except for you). Do you think people here are stupid?

You sound angry and this post is insensitive, uninformed, and unkind.
