Miami Airport to The Villages
Is there a reliable bus or train service from MIA to TV, or nearby?
I have seen CruiseConnection mentioned, but I expect they service the cruiseport rather than the airport. Thank you |

You are correct. Cruise Connection does NOT service any airport.
I don't know of any other service, either. No passenger trains on this side of the state, and I don't think there's any service like Greyhound, either. SWR

He just took a group of us to Fort Lauderdale and was great. On time and on the ball! He'll quote a price. Another option would be a car rental. Last edited by ldj1938; 01-25-2010 at 02:44 PM. |

Thank you
There is Amtrak from Miami downtown to Lakeland, but that would involve a cab at one end and who knows what at the other. Any hints on getting from Lakeland to TV? Looks like it may have to be a car rental, although I do prefer using public transport whenever possible. I shall do some more research and post here if I have any luck. |

You can check Amtrak's website for service to Wildwood. I've done the southbound trip a couple times. You'd take train from Miami to Lakeland, then the Amtrak bus to Wildwood. Not a bad trip at all, provided the train is on time.

Thank you, Carla B
My incoming flight ties in quite nicely with the train - assuming the cab ride from MIA to the Amtrak station isn't too long. Going back via Amtrak would mean over-nighting in Miami, but that may be preferable to the long drive down if I had to rent a car. |
