We have had Cambria for 12 years up north. It is scratch resistant and very good. Heat resistant also. We don't put a hot pan on it directly. Isn't worth the risk. We cut on it but try to use cutting boards. We just had Doc's install NEW Cambria in our home in The Villages. We love it. Do not need to treat it. Clean with vinegar and water. Recommended by Cambria which is close to our hometown. Cost, 68-75 bucks a sq. ft. installed. GOOD LUCK !!

In reference to some of the replies. Quartz shouldn't scratch easily. You should use a cutting board on any countertop surface. Using a cutting board will not dull you knives, as cutting on a hard or stone surface will. It also is easier clean up and protects your investment. You wouldn't cut something on the hood of your car, or maybe you would..lol. Most of the quartz is made in China, because that is who has the expensive and complex machinery that makes it. There is only one company that makes the machines and it takes them about a year to manufacture one machine. If you are going to buy quartz now is the time. Due to the tariffs in September the price of quartz is expected to increase 50% to 200%. Shop at a reputable dealer that can show you both granite and quartz so you can decide which works best for you.
